track-club have announced some winter novice car hire offers that make use of the novice specific days run by the popular track-day organizer; Motorsport Vision. These offers are aimed specifically at those who have little or no experience at all of circuit driving but would to try a track day in a car appropriately prepared and on a day where they will be amongst drivers of similar experience.
Motorsport Vision categorise these days as suitable for people who have done less than 3 track days and the day includes an extended briefing pointing out key point of the circuit as well as covering vehicle preparation, track etiquette and racing lines. Brake boards and cones are used around the circuit to help speed up the learning experience and there is a maximum of 30 cars on circuit.
track-club compliment these days with a full track day "hand holding" service where we book the day for you, deliver the car to the track complete with your own ARDS qualified instructor dedicated to you for the day. The price for these events start at £875 which includes the car, the track fee and instructor. Helmets and intercoms are included as well and as a new track day driver all you need to do is simply turn up at the briefing as fuel, VAT and insurance is also included. If you would like to share the experience with a second driver you can do so at no extra charge.

Participants who then decide they want to go on and undertake a second date either on future novice specific dats or any other track days have the option of then using the Lotus Exige S or BMW M3 and the same instructor will guide them through the process again.

It's been a busy summer for track-club, multiple podiums at a number of events with our arrive drive race fleet, some very busy months of track hire and a number of new fleet members including a new Palmer JP1, Lotus 2-Eleven and a Westfield Aerorace.
The winter track season is almost upon us and with it the opportunity to indulge in a number of extremely good value events with cheaper weekend track days and the return of the exceptional track-club taster days. One of the finest workhoses the track-club fleet has ever had; our chrome orange Lotus Exige S2 is leaving shortly to enjoy a well earned rest and in it's a place the 4th additional to our fleet this year.
Those of you who know their Loti will probably spot the subtle differences that mark out the replacement as the supercharged version of the same car; a brand new Lotus Exige S in chrome orange and the all important sports pack arrives on the fleet this very week.
Our taster days give you the opportunity to drive a number of the most popular cars on the track-club fleet at some of the UKs best circuits. We are now taking bookings for the following events:
These events are priced at just £295 per head and will include 5 sessions of proper driving time in at least 3 different members of the track-club fleet including the Caterham Roadsport, Clio 182 Cup, Wesfield Aerorace, Lotus Elise S2, Lotus Exige S and BMW M3. Optional sessions will also be available in our race spec Lotus 2-Eleven.
The price of £295 is fully inclusive of VAT, insurance, fuel, tuition and helmets. Whether you want to treat yourself or get someone a driving gift that offers so much more than some of the very, very average "driving experiences" a track-club taster event will give you a day out that you'll never forget. We are now taking a register of interest for our very popular taster events. These events are aimed at novices as well as experienced track day drivers with 3 price points and a focus on limited numbers to deliver plenty of high quality driving time.
These events can take place at Silverstone, Donington, Brands Hatch, Snetterton and Rockingham. We'll assess the level of interest in the options and then put together a program that will meet demand and preferences.
The options:
Aimed at the novice track day driver, these days provide 5 high quality driving sessions in a selection of cars from our fleet including the Caterham Roadsport, Lotus Elise, Renault Clio 182 Cup and Lotus Exige. The days will be priced at approximately £350 including VAT and insurance. The days include some track tuition however where appropriate and where the driver is confident enough you will move on to driving on your own. On these days you will be actually driving for almost two hours so do not confuse these wtill typical "driving experiences"!
These days are aimed at the more experienced track driver and are desgined to give you a feel for the high performance side of our fleet. Again you will spend circa 2 hours in the drivers seat but these days will involve the Lotus Exige S, Lotus 2-Elevent, Westfield Aerorace and the Palmer JP1. The days will be priced at circa £650 per driver and numbers will be strictly limited. One of our senior instructors will be on hand to give you specific advice on the cars and/or circuit but it is completely up to you whether you want any in car tuition
These days are for those who like a little competition in their life. Held at Bruntingthorpe proving ground, 2 track-club cars are put to work on a coned sprint circuit designed to test your speed and limit handling skills. The emphasis on these days is on maximum driving time and they should not be confused with other "slalom days". There will be multiple competitions during the course of the event with the option to participate in morning, afternoon or all day sessions. These events will be priced at circa £250

Our new arrive drive racing programme had a spectacular weekend bringing in some impressive results with a total of 6 trophies from 6 races at Castle Combe (Westfield Sportscar Championship) and Snetterton (Lotus On Track Elise Trophy).
A fuel mix up resulted in the Lotus Elise running 1.5kgs under weight in qualifying relegating track club member Marcus Jewell to the back of the grid for the race start a position he shared with a number of others caught out in the same way.
Marcus put together a magnificent drive that took him from 29th on the grid straight to the podium having finished 3rd. Marcus then showed that this was no accident and went on to take Class A victory in the second race later on in the afteroon; that's yet another trophy to add to his collection then.
Even better results were obtained by another track club member, Adrian Mardlin, driving our brand new Lotus 2-Eleven. Qualifying 4th overall demonstrating talent allowing him to mix with the majority of the faster Class C cars he then went on to win the 2-Eleven class in both races.

A logistically challenging weekend found Ben Elliot racing our Westfield Aerorace, a car that has won its class at every round of the championship at the hands of 3 different drivers, at Castle Combe. Racing against the faster Class B cars Ben had a couple of titanic battles eventually overcoming EVO magazines Roger Green in another Class B car and actually getting an overall podium in both races.
So the executive summary then; Five class wins and six podiums from a single weekend of racing meaning a few celebrations were in order.
The team is now looking ahead to the next round of the Westfield series at Donington Park in early August and then the Elise S1 and 2-Eleven head to Cadwell for round 7 of the Elise Trophy series on the 17th of August.
